For 30 years the Hastwell and Lightfoot families have worked together to handcraft a range of wines from their 16 hectares of vines. These vines, planted in 1988, rest on deep sand; a product of tens of millennia of westerlies spreading mantles of coastal Semaphore sands into the valleys, building up on the ridges creating the region’s sand dunes. These ‘Sands of Time’ give their name to the Hastwell & Lightfoot’s flagship Shiraz. Shiraz has an enviable tradition in McLaren Vale, and this is reflective in the Hastwell & Lightfoot Sands of Time Shiraz.
